About the
Ensemble
Chorus Angelorum Chattanooga is a sixteen person ensemble comprised of several of the area's best amateur and professional vocalists. The ensemble was formed in early 2020 with the intent of safely providing online choral concerts, both sacred and secular, during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Even as things have returned to normal, Chorus Angelorum continues to fill a vital role in the Chattanooga Arts community by providing free concerts, both live and online.
Eternity Alone
Please join Chorus Angelorum Chattanooga for a contemplative evening of choral music reflecting on rest, eternity, longing, and peace.
There are moments when language feels insufficient, when what we are trying to express is too vast to be contained by words alone; this program explores eternity as one of those realities that resists definition, existing at once as an interstellar concept, a spiritual home, an object of longing, and an unknown place beyond the limits of our imagination.
The first half features works by René Clausen, Ethan McGrath, Healey Willan, and Lucy Walker, approaching eternity through solitude, welcome, grief, light, and rest. The second half leads into a sung service of Compline, with music by Lucy Walker, Henry Walford Davies, Thomas Tallis, and Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina.
